After drama school in 1968 in Rostov-on-Don — actor and director in Theatres from Rostov-on-Don and Omsk.
Among the performances are: “Man for All Seasons” by R. Bolt (1986), “Do not play with Archangels” by J. Foe (1987).

At the ending of directing faculty of the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (course of M. Boutkevitch and A. Vasiliev) in 1987 — an actor, director and teacher at the Moscow Theatre “School of Dramatic Art“.
Among roles are: Manager and Father (“Six Characters in Search of an Author“ by L. Pirandello), Verkhovensky (“Demons“ by F. Dostoevsky), Rogozhin in performance “Vis-a-Vis“ (joint project with the center Kunstlerhaus Bethany in Berlin on novel „Idiot” by F. Dostoevsky), several roles in the performance „Today, we improvise” by Pirandello.

He supervised the Russian group in the joint project „School of Dramatic Art” and the Operational Center of Grotowsky's „Slavic Pilgrims”(1991). He went through a cycle of training under the guidance of E. Grotowsky (1991, Pontedera, Italy).

Director in the performance “Lamentations” — the book “Lamentations”, the situation in singing by composer V. Martynov (1996).
Director and teacher in the performance “Joseph and his brothers” by T. Mann (1993).
Codirector in the performance and opera “The Queen of Spades” by P. Tchaikovsky (1996, staged by Vasiliev in the Weimar's Opera House).

He staged such performances as:
“Athens evenings” by P. Gladilin (1998), “Iron Class” by A. Nicolai (1999).

Since 1993 teaching at the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts and leading actor and director course of the Vasiliev studio.

In 2008 he was invited to the Moscow Art Theatre on the role of Firs in the performance directed by A. Shapiro “The Cherry Orchard“. In the same year he was admitted to the troupe. In addition to the Firs, he played Jonathan Peachum in the performance„Threepennies Opera”.
