Yury Chursin

He graduated from the Theatre School named after B. Shchukin in 2001 (course of Y. Shlykov) and was accepted into the troupe of the State Theatre named after E. Vakhtangov, where he played in such performances as: “Night of the Iguana“ by T. Williams (Pancho), “King-Deer“ by K. Gozzi (Leandro), “For Two Hares“ by M. Staritsky (Policeman), „King Lear” by W. Shakespeare (Edgar), „Othello” by W. Shakespeare (Rodrigo), „Inspector” by N. Gogol (Lyapkin-Tyapkin), etc.

In 2005 he was accepted into the troupe of the Moscow Art Theatre. He debuted on stage of the Moscow Art Theatre in the performance “The Wood“ (Bulanov) by A. Ostrovsky.
Apart Bulanov, he plays Leo (“Primadonnas“), Petenka (“The Golovlevs“), Ariel (“The Pillowman“), Jingle (“The Pickwick Club“), Treplev („The Seagull”).

In the Moscow Theatre named after A. Pushkin he played in the performance „Some overt polaroid images” (Victor) by M. Ravenhill.

In the Moscow Theatre manage by O. Tabakov he plays in performances „Idiot” (Ivolgin) by F. Dostoevsky and „The Elder Son” (Busygin) by A. Vampilov.

Youth Award winner „Triumph” (2005). Theatre Prize of the newspaper “Moskovsky Komsomolets” for season 2004-2005 (beginners) — Best Actor (Bulanov, “The Wood“). Winner of the festival „Vivat, Russia movies!” (2005) for Best Male Performer in the role of serials (“Hiromant”). In 2006 was awarded together with Dmitry Dyuzhev the Theatre Award “Seagull“ for best acting duo in the performance “Primadonnas“ of the Moscow Art Theatre. For his work in “The Pillowman“,together with the other creators of the performance, was awarded the Theatre Award „Seagull” (2007) in the category “Best Acting Ensemble Award” and Prize of the Charitable Foundation named after Oleg Tabakov „For the ability to open new possibilities of acting in the knowledge of bizarre twists and turns of the human psyche”(2008).

Acted in such films as: “Failure of Poirot” directed by S. Ursulyak (2002) and “Representing a victim” directed by K. Serebrennikov (2006).
