Today is the birthday of Anton Chekhov.

For Moscow Art Theatre he was always more than first among russian playwrights. Dream of his Seagull was a guiding star under which Moscow Art Theatre was founded. “Three Sisters“and „The Cherry Orchard” Anton Chekhov wrote already specially for Moscow Art Theatre, focusing, and sometimes even correcting plays according to troupe opportunities. All Chekhov's plays, many tales and stories were repeatedly put on the Moscow Art Theatre's Stage. Today in Theatre's repertoire — “The Seagull“ directed by O. Efimov, „The Cherry Orchard“ directed by A. Shapiro and „The Duel” directed by A. Yakovlev

On 13 February in the performance “The Cherry Orchard” Yana Gladkih will play for the first time the role of Anya, Igor Hripunov will play the role of Peter Trofimov.

On 20 February in the performance “Pismovnik” Valery Malinin will play for the first time the role of Sasha's husband.

On 25 February in the performance “The Pickwick Club” student of Moscow Art Theatre School Dmitry Vlaskin will play for the first time the role of Ben.
